About China Adventure
One specialist, from first idea to final day.
China Adventure plans active journeys in China — ready-made routes you can take as they stand, and custom itineraries built around your dates, your group and the way you like to move.
Start a route brief ↗What we doTrips are planned, not sold off a shelf.
An enquiry reaches the person who will plan the journey. From there it becomes a route outline, then a costed itinerary, then a trip.
Some travellers arrive knowing the mountain they want to stand under. Others arrive with a fortnight, a season, and no particular plan beyond wanting to be outdoors in China. Both are workable starting points — the brief simply tells us which one you are.
Nothing on this site is a fixed departure. The routes we publish are outlines: they show the shape of a journey so you can judge whether it fits before we ever talk about dates.
How an enquiry becomes a journey.
- 01
You send a brief
Dates, group size, and the landscape or activity you have in mind. One honest sentence about your walking experience is worth more than a long list of wishes.
- 02
We come back with questions
Within one business day we reply with the details that change a plan: seasonal access, altitude, how far you are willing to walk in a day, and where a route is genuinely harder than it looks.
- 03
You get a route outline
Day by day, with the moving parts named — where you sleep, how you get there, what is guided, and what is yours to arrange.
- 04
We shape it together
Dates and pace get adjusted until the journey matches what you had in mind. Only then do we put a cost against it and turn the outline into an itinerary.
Where we planFour ways into the country.
Almost every journey starts in one of these, then borrows from the others. A trek can end with two days of village cooking; a desert crossing can open with a night train and a city breakfast.
If you already know the activity but not the place, start there. If you know the place but not the activity, start with the destination instead.
Why no pricesNo two journeys price the same way.
Quotes move with the season, the size of the group, the standard of the nights, and how much of each day needs a guide. Two travellers in May and four travellers in October can be looking at the same route and very different numbers.
We price a journey once we know its shape. That is what the enquiry form is for: the more precisely we understand the trip, the less guesswork sits inside the quote.
