Read the river.

The river comes first. Group confidence, water level and the local team determine whether the day should be a gentle float or an active run.

  1. Check the conditions
  2. Match the crew to the water
  3. Debrief before the next move

China rafting guide.

A river day is selected around water level, the operator, the crew and the weather—not around an assumed intensity label.

Choose the feeling, not a grade

Tell us whether you want a scenic float, a playful active session or a stronger whitewater objective. Local operators determine what is currently suitable.

Plan the whole river day

Briefing, fitting equipment, transfers, time on water, changing clothes and the return journey all belong in the itinerary.

Respect weather and water

Rainfall, release schedules, temperature and river level can change the operating decision quickly. A good plan has a land-based alternative.

Start with the river and the group.

The more clearly you describe the group and your experience, the faster we can separate a feasible idea from an unsuitable one.

  • Age range, swimming confidence and any non-swimmers in the group.
  • Previous rafting or paddling experience and desired activity level.
  • Travel dates plus flexibility for weather or water-level changes.
  • Medical considerations and whether you need a family-oriented option.

Rafting questions.

Short answers to the questions that shape a sensible first conversation.

Do we need to be strong swimmers?

Requirements differ by venue and trip style. We will confirm the operator’s current participation rules before recommending a day.

Is rafting suitable for children?

Only where the venue, river conditions, age policy and equipment are appropriate. Sometimes a lake or gentler water experience is the better option.

What should we bring?

Quick-drying layers, sun protection, water and a dry change of clothes are typical starting points; follow the operator’s actual kit list.

Make it count.

Rafting is seasonal and site-specific, so this page begins the conversation rather than promising a fixed run. Tell us the age range, water confidence and appetite for excitement; we will assess suitable rivers, conditions and qualified local support.

Route ideas.

These are ingredients, not off-the-shelf promises. We connect them only when conditions, access and your group make sense.

Scenic river time

A calmer day on the water can be an active counterpoint to hiking and road travel.

Whitewater intent

For a more energetic objective, experience and river conditions must lead the plan.

A complete day

Transfers, gear, briefing and a change of clothes are planned as part of the route.

Find your fit.

Start with the version of this activity that sounds most like you. This gives us a better first brief; it does not replace the on-the-ground checks a responsible plan needs.

Start with a gentler float and a landscape-first day outdoors.

Share your dates, group, relevant experience and the kind of day you want. We will reply with a thoughtful starting point and confirm what is appropriate for the season.
